Joann Youmans is a native of Hopeful, Georgia. A town known for its slogan "Where our HOPE makes us not ashamed!" She is the mother of two sons, Trey and Kevin, the proud grandmother of two grandchildren, plus she has four BONUS GRANDS! She is the daughter of the late Mike Banks and the late Ms. Ella Mae Williams of Pelham, GA. Joann is the eleventh child of twelve siblings.  Her identical twin sister, Mrs. Barbara Childs, is her best friend.
 
Joann graduated from Mitchell County High School and received her clerical degree from Albany Technical College. She is a veteran of the US Army, having served her country for ten years. She was also a dedicated and valued employee of the Marine Corps Logistics Base (MCLB) in Albany, GA. There, she was employed as a Management & Program Analyst for 31 years.
 
Joann is a survivor of COVID-19.  In March 2020, she battled the deadly virus and was in a coma for 3 months. Currently, she is penning her journey.  It is a beautiful story of her life and about how God brought her from tragedy to triumph.
 
Since her remarkable recovery, Joann has been an advocate for survivors of COVID-19. She has graced many platforms to share her story of hope and resilience. She always gives God the glory and honor for her life.
 
She is Joann Youmans...a SURVIVOR and a SERVANT who is spreading light as well as hope wherever she goes!
